Radar level gauge from Endress+Hauser

THE Endress+Hauser FMR250, part of the Micropilot M range, is a non-contact solution designed to measure in the most demanding solids applications by overcoming conditions, such as dust, filling noises, temperature layers and gas stratification.

Measuring up to 70m, the two-wire device is useful for monitoring high silos containing dusty solids, including cement and extreme abrasive bulks, such as ferrite. The key to Micropilot’s success is its integrated echo platform, which allows step-by-step commissioning, easy analysis, system optimization and the ability to document the specific instrument configuration.

Setting up the instrument is simple and user-friendly; the local display asks users general questions about their applications and gives various answer options for them to select, so the right settings are utilized. For added security, operators can see exactly what the gauge sees by viewing the envelope curve on the local display.

The FMR250 has been specifically designed with the users’ needs in mind with features, including: availability in two versions – a horn antenna for level measurement in standard applications, and a parabolic antenna with a four degree beam angle for focusing on long ranges in narrow silos; integrated air purge as standard for applications, which generate a build up of dust; a top target positioner that can be adapted to angled surfaces, minimizing interference reflections and ensuring reliable measurement; free ToF Tool operating software for reliable commissioning, maintenance and documentation of the instrument configuration; and ATEX EEx ia, EEx d and SIL2 certification.
