Powerscreen open manufacturing plant in India

MOBILE crushing and screening equipment specialists Powerscreen, part of the Terex Corporation, have expanded their manufacturing and distribution capabilities to meet the growing demands of India’s ambitious infrastructure building plans and growing commercial market.

The opening of a purpose-built facility for the manufacturing of tracked and wheeled crushing and screening equipment in Hosur, India, will allow Powerscreen machines to be built in-country by Indian workers.

In addition, later this year the company’s Indian sales and support network will be enhanced when three new distributors join the country’s first distributor of Powerscreen products, Voltas, who have pioneered the mobile crushing and screening concept in India.

Commenting on these developments, Kieran Hegarty, vice-president of Terex Materials Processing, said: ‘Mobile crushing and screeningequipment plays a basic, yet vital, role in building infrastructure.

‘We are very pleased to be building equipment in India at a time when the country is investing substantially in infrastructure development to help ensure the economic well-being of its citizens.’
