Powerscreen Chieftain 1800 triple-deck screen

A recent addition to the Powerscreen Chieftain range of mobile dry-screening plants is the new Chieftain 1800 triple-deck screen, capable of outputs up to 500 tonnes/h (depending on mesh sizes and material types). The machine is available as a wheeled model or with heavy-duty, low ground pressure crawler tracks and an optional tri-axle bogie system that allows the unit to be transported without the need for a low loader.

Offering maximum access for easy maintenance and serviceability, the Chieftain 1800 is designed and built for the high-volume processing of aggregates, overburden, topsoil, coal, crushed stone and demolition debris. Once on site, set-up time for the machine is typically around 15min.

Features of the Chieftain 1800 include: a radio-controlled, angle-adjustable tipping grid with integral loading and wing plates; an optional vibrating grizzly; a variable-speed feed conveyor; a huck bolted 16x5 triple-deck screen unit with an oil-filled two-bearing system; variable-speed and hydraulically folding side and fines conveyors; and an auxiliary conveyor that is transported separately from the main unit.

The machine is powered by a Cat 3045C DIT engine that develops 75kW (100hp) at 2,200 rev/min, while all hydraulic pumps and motors comprise high-performance, heavy-duty units from Danfoss and David Brown.
