OTR launch the CushionTyre
EARTHMOVER tyre specialists OTR Tyres Ltd have launched the CushionTyre – a product designed to eliminate tyre downtime and maximize machine running time – on to the UK market.
Described by OTR as one of the most revolutionary earthmover tyres available today and the first to combine solid-tyre durability with a pneumatic-like ride, the CushionTyre is manufactured with two rows of apertures built into the sidewall structure of the tyre; this allows better shock absorption and reduces the overall solid weight of the tyre.
Available in a range of sizes and tread patterns, and exclusive to OTR in the UK, the product is said to be guaranteed to improve tyre running costs per hour.
Particularly suitable for us in harsh environments, such as quarries, the CushionTyre anti-abrasion compound formula and deep tread design ensure that the tyres are resistant to cuts and punctures, and although they will wear, OTR say they can easily be retreaded to maximize tyre life. An added advantage for quarries is that the CushionTyre eliminates the need for tyre-protection chains.
OTR sales director Les Williams commented: ‘Figures have shown a minimum 30% benefit in cost and wear rate in comparison to other brands. In addition to the obvious repair and wear benefits, the user is reducing scrap disposal costs by extending the life of the original tyre.’
