Nynas join United Nations Global Compact
Bitumen specialist strengthens commitment to responsible business practices and sustainability
NYNAS have joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. By doing so, the company has strengthened its commitment to responsible business practices and to supporting the global transition towards a more sustainable society.
‘Sustainability is at the core of our business and our future. By joining the UN Global Compact, we are taking a further step to align with international principles and contribute to the collective effort to advance sustainable development,’ says Eric Gosse, president and chief executive officer of Nynas.

The UN Global Compact brings together more than 25,000 participants from 167 countries. The initiative is built on 10 principles covering human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. In addition to adopting these principles, members are encouraged to take strategic action to advance broader societal goals such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through this global network, companies gain access to training, practical tools, and opportunities for collaboration across industries and geographies.
By joining, Nynas commit to aligning their operations with the UN Global Compact’s 10 principles. Each year, the company will report publicly on its progress and share how it contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Nynas say this commitment is both a continuation and a reinforcement of their long-standing role in supporting critical infrastructure and industry with reliable products, while working to advance the transition to a more sustainable society.

‘Nynas’ participation this year is especially meaningful as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the UN Global Compact, reflecting our ambition to contribute even more to create the world we all want – not only through the solutions we deliver, but also through how we operate and the partnerships we form,’ commented Ingrid Gonzales, group sustainability manager at Nynas.
She added that by joining the UN Global Compact, Nynas are positioning themselves among companies worldwide that are committed to transparency, accountability, and innovation in building a more sustainable future.
