JCB Loadall telehandler

Plant hire firm takes delivery of 107 telehandlers with lift heights ranging from 7m to 17m

ONE of the UK’s leading plant and equipment hire firms has purchased a huge fleet of the latest fuel-saving Tier 4i JCB Loadall telehandlers in an order worth more than £7 million.

Newcastle-based Nixon Hire have taken delivery of 107 machines with lift heights ranging from 7m to 17m. The order includes 531-70, 533-105, 535-125, 535-140 and 540-170 models – all of which are made at JCB’s world headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire.

Nixon Hire’s managing director, Graham Nixon, said: ‘We choose to work with JCB as it’s important for us work with leading industry brands which our customers know and trust.

‘JCB telehandlers appeal as they are reliable, the serviceable parts are readily available and they are popular with our customers. They are high-quality, robust telehandlers which include modern technology and the latest health and safety features.

‘JCB supply us with the products we require at a competitive price and have been the preferred supplier for Nixon Hire telehandlers since 2006. We continue to have an excellent relationship with our local dealer, Scot JCB, and their extensive depot coverage complements our own depot network very well.’

Developed to meet the EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Interim emissions standards, the JCB Ecomax Tier 4i engine used on the Nixon Hire fleet of JCB Loadalls has no requirement for costly diesel particulate filters (DPFs) or exhaust after-treatment fluids, and delivers up to 7% improved fuel economy and 15% more torque.
