New wash plant for R Collard to be unveiled

Washing plant

State-of-the-art washing plant to be showcased at two-day event in Hampshire

A NEW state-of-the-art washing plant developed by Duo and Terex Washing Systems (TWS) for R Collard will be launched at a special two-day event in Eversley, Hampshire, on 11-12 June 2015.

Representatives from R Collard and manufacturers Duo Plc and TWS will be on hand to demonstrate their new technologies and answer any questions. The event will also be attended by Steve Lee, chairman of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management (CIWM), and Brian James, recycling specialist at the MPA.

The £2 million washing plant has a number of innovative features specially designed to enhance the efficiency and environmental performance of the recycling process. This will, importantly, allow R Collard to supply a range of high-grade recycled aggregates to local construction and civil engineering projects.

The new plant is expected to process up to 250,000 tonnes of waste concrete and hardcore collected from construction/demolition projects throughout the South of England each year to be recycled for use on a number of local developments, including: the M3 ‘smart motorway’ project; M4 widening scheme; and Bracknell town centre regeneration.

The washing system is part of a programme of investments planned for the 20th anniversary of the business which is being celebrated this year.
