New top-of-the-range breaker from Bobcat

INTENDED for secondary breaking, concrete demolition, trenching and general excavation work, the HB2380 hydraulic breaker from Bobcat is the new top-of-the-range model in the company’s 80 Series breaker range. The new breaker can be mounted on Bobcat excavators from 7 to 12 tonnes and on the Bobcat range of large-frame compact loaders.

With an ability to work with flow rates from 75 to 125 litres/min, the HB2380 maximizes efficiency by providing a match in terms of hydraulic capacities, performance and dimensions with a wide range of Bobcat carriers from the 442 and 444 midi-excavators; S220, S250 and S300 skid-steers; and T250 and T300 compact tracked loaders to the A300 all-wheel-steer loader.

Like the rest of the 80 Series, the HB2380 is designed to provide enhanced breaking performance at lower operating temperatures and also shares various aspects with the other models in the range (HB280 to HB1180) including: fewer moving parts for easy and minimal maintenance; an automatic pressure regulator to ensure optimal operating pressure on all approved carriers; and silencing as standard.

The HB2380 hydraulic breaker also retains the cylindrical frame of the 80 Series range, providing improved access to jobs in confined areas such as inside structures or holes, and is equipped as standard with a special shield to protect hoses and fittings from damage.

As well as fewer moving parts, the internal design of the HB2380 excludes tie rods, which means the breaker can be quickly disassembled without the need for special tooling. The automatic pressure regulator delivers constant energy per blow and ensures longer working time without the risk of overheating.

The HB2380 also incorporates an effective soundproofing system, whereby the striking assembly is held top and bottom by a suspension system that is not in contact with the outer cylindrical housing.

Another innovative feature is a patented treated-steel ring ‘clip’ system, which retains the bushing of the work tool and protects the greasing system. This ring is easily removed with a multi-purpose tool (supplied with the breaker), which releases the sliding bushing and the work tool instantly.
