New Terex recycling screen for Yorkshire Aggregates

Terex TRS 550 Spaleck plant

Doncaster-based company invests in TRS 550 Spaleck plant to meet increased demands for high-quality topsoil

YORKSHIRE Aggregates have taken delivery of a new Terex TRS 550 recycling screen with Spaleck technology from long-term suppliers Warwick Ward, one of the UK’s Terex Ecotec dealers.

According to Terex Environmental Equipment (TEE), the TRS 550 unit is the ultimate in mobile screening and separation technology. The robust, tracked three-way split recycling screen has been designed to operate in a wide range of primary and secondary screening applications (eg construction and demolition material, incineration slag, light and heavy shredder faction etc.).

At the heart of the screen is a two-deck German-designed recycling waste screen with Flip-Flow-Screen Elastica. The Spaleck deck features a 3D punch-plate as standard, ensuring the plant is ‘virtually block-free’ and delivers maximum fines removal. The Spaleck screen also has an aggressive flip-flow bottom deck with a variety of mat sizes available, which are secured with friction wedges (no secure bolts are required).

‘We’ve purchased the new Terex TRS 550 Spaleck recycling screen to continue the growth of our soil producing facility, where we have seen increased demand,’ said Mark Jones, managing director of Yorkshire Aggregates.

‘The soil market has changed considerably over the past few years and we cater for all customers, including in-specification soils for house builders and those with more general landscape requirements. We produce a soil certified to BS3882 and we needed a machine that would be capable of producing a consistent high-quality end-product and this when the TRS 550 Spaleck came to our attention.’

Daren Bekisz, finance director of Yorkshire Aggregates, added: ‘We currently sell around 500 tonnes of soil per week and I know that we can rely on the Terex TRS 550 screen to produce the material quicker and maintain its quality, especially in wetter weather conditions.

‘In terms of all-year round production, it’s the best machine avilable and changing the decks takes a couple of hours to complete. Through the mobile plant, the oversize is also going back into our recycling and washing processes.’
