Latest arrivals in Quinn Building Products’ Fleet Replenishment Programme make their mark

THE first quarter of 2020 saw the arrival of a number of new additions to Quinn Building Products’ transport fleet, as part of a fleet and mobile plant replenishment programme.

Among the latest arrivals were five new Feldbinder triaxle cement tankers for use by Quinn Cement. In operation since January, these new tankers have been paired up with tractor units purchased in the second half of 2019, all of which have been fitted with truck-mounted blowers, which are lighter and more efficient than traditional tank-mounted equipment.

According to Quinn Cement, the combined trucks and trailers have performed well so far, providing a generous weight saving over traditional tank-mounted blowers, whilst at the same time reducing the company’s environmental impact.

The first quarter of 2020 also saw the arrival of two new Kelberg tipping trailers, which are used for the hauling of raw materials at Quinn Cement. The tippers are fitted with automatic tail doors and roll-over covers to help aid driver safety.

Quinn’s Fleet Replenishment Programme involves major investment to replace all older vehicles with upgraded new vehicles, thereby reducing the company’s environmental impact, providing greater efficiencies and ensuring increasing demands are met. The programme, which has been ongoing since 2015, has included the purchase of more than 100 new vehicles and plant machinery to date.
