New RS rental generators from JCB

JCB G100RS generator

Award-winning JCB Dieselmax engines provide the power for new hire sector gensets

JCB Power Products are meeting the needs of customers in the hire sector with the launch of the first four RS diesel generators, specifically designed for the power generation rental market.

Powered by JCB’s award-winning Dieselmax engine, the generators use high-quality industry-recognized components and all are fitted within a robust sound-attenuated canopy.

The first four RS-branded generators offer outputs of 60, 80, 100 and 125kVA, which are the most popular power nodes for rental machines.

The 60, 80 and 100kVA models are powered by JCB’s mechanically controlled Stage IIIA Dieselmax engine, while the 130kVA model has an electronically controlled Dieselmax.

The generator design has, however, been future-proofed to accept engines up to Stage V emissions standards in years to come.

Equipped with engines that are renowned for delivering fuel economy and long service life, the generator sets can be supplied with an optional engine coolant heater and battery charger for static installations, or an optional anti-condensation heater to ensure that the alternator remains dry between periods of rental.

The RS range is equipped as standard with JCB’s LiveLink for Power telematic system, to remotely monitor an individual generator or an entire fleet.

This allows fleet managers and company owners to access operating data on all JCB generators working in the field, to ensure minimal downtime and to maximize availability for the customer.

JCB Power Products use Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers on the RS models. The DSE 7310 provides an auto-start module, while the DSE 7320 comes with a mains-failure module.

A DSE 8610 controller is available as an option, complete with synchronizing and load-sharing control module. This intelligent controller provides configurable inputs/outputs for multiple installations options.

In addition, the RS generator sets use Mecc Alte alternators, which are said to be 3–5% more efficient than many competitive brands, while standard DSR automatic voltage regulators ensure seamless power back-up when necessary.

The four generators are supplied within a robust, durable canopy that is Zinctec powder-coated for additional longevity. With a single integrated lift point that removes the requirement for regular lift testing, JCB Power Products generators are both weather protected and sound attenuated, offering sound levels as low as 65dB(A) at 7m.

The robust bunded base frame also incorporates fork-lift pockets for ease of movement, along with integrated tie-down points for secure transport and on-site movement.

Long-run fuel tanks are fitted as standard, with a 24h operating tanks available as an option. Fuel filtration and water separation down to 5 microns is also standard on all four models, ensuring optimum performance in the toughest site conditions.
