New PR 744 Litronic bulldozer

Liebherr have added to the existing PR 724 and PR 734 Litronic machines in their Series 4 bulldozer range with the launch of the new PR 744 Litronic, a heavier and more powerful machine than its predecessor, which is designed to offer increased production capacity, reduced operating costs and improved driving comfort.

The 28.2-tonne machine is controlled by Liebherr’s new fourth-generation Litronic system, which includes an integral operational data memory that can be viewed on the multifunction display. The new Litronic also matches the steering behaviour of the machine to the driving speed for increased working capacity when turning.

The PR 744 Litronic’s response speed has also been enhanced, with modern ‘demand-controlled’ hydraulics and a fast-lowering function providing quick and precise control of the working equipment via a single-lever controller.

The new machine is the first Liebherr bulldozer to be fitted with the company’s new D 936 L diesel engine, which offers 7% more power than the previous dozer but with reduced fuel consumption. With its electronic engine-management system, the newly designed unit ensures that maximum torque is always available, while at the same time engine emissions have been reduced in line with Stage III/Tier 3 emissions regulations.

Like the other two Series 4 models, the PR 744 Litronic features a new and enlarged cab with good all-round visibility of the working area, ergonomically optimized joysticks for drive and blade control, extra storage space and an additional cool box container. In addition, the combination of low engine speed and the demand-controlled hydrostatic fan means that the already low noise emissions have been reduced further for even greater operator comfort.
