New portable compressor

Atlas Copco have launched a new version of the XAS36 portable compressor to replace the XAS32 and older XAS36 models.

Following six years of detailed development and customer leads, the new model offers a wider choice of options than its predecessors, including an integral hose reel to improve the ease and safe handling of air lines, cold-start equipment for reliable operation at temperatures as low as –20°C, and a toolbox.

The new XAS36 is finished in a new type of bodywork incorporating powder-coated zincor steel for corrosion resistance. The improved design also features heavy-duty hinges and a wider opening for better access to service areas. The instrument panel is recessed into the hood for easier access and is protected by a transparent plastic cover.

Mounted on a compact single-axle chassis, the XAS36 is powered by a three-cylinder 15.4kW Yanmar diesel engine which produces 15.4kW at 3,600 rev/min.

With a free-air delivery of 35 litres/s at 7 bar, the new compressor has sufficient power to operate a full range of pneumatic tools.
