New look for WRAP from next month

FROM 1 April 2010, WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) will provide all advice and support funded by Defra on resource efficiency in England.

This means WRAP will be the first port of call for both businesses and consumers for advice on avoiding, reducing and recycling waste.

All current websites, help numbers and direct support will, over the coming months, be merged into one. The key contact points in the first instance will then be the WRAP website (www.wrap.org.uk) and the WRAP telephone helpline: (0808) 100 2040.

Other websites and helplines for previously funded government programmes, including Envirowise and NISP, will cease to exist over the coming year starting 1 April.

In addition, the Scottish Government has recently concluded a review of all its publicly funded environmental programmes. As a result, all seven programmes delivering waste advice will in future be brought together under Zero Waste Scotland, which will be managed by WRAP.

WRAP will also continue to work as WRAP Cymru and WRAP Northern Ireland in those nations.
