New Holland to launch top-of-the-range machinery offering

New Holland L230 skid steer loader

L230 skid-steer loader and C238 compact track loader set to make debuts at Bauma

NEW Holland will use Bauma 2013 as a launch pad for the new L230 skid-steer loader and C238 compact track loader. The two models maintain the compact dimensions of their predecessors while delivering numerous benefits including: more pushing power thanks to a 90hp turbocharged engine; fast cycles with more hydraulic power and superior balance; best-in-class dump height and reach owing to the company’s patented SuperBoom; and good all-round visibility with ample side windows and low threshold.

The L230 and C238, which replace the L225 and C232 models respectively, feature a turbocharged Stage IIIA-compliant engine to compete in the high-end segment of the market. The FPT engine delivers high torque of around 340Nm at a low engine speed of only 1,400 rev/min, delivering more pushing power and fuel savings, as well as enhancing operator comfort.

The high engine and hydraulic power combined with the machine’s perfect balance mean that the L230 and C238 can mount large buckets of up to 0.58 sq m capacity to complete jobs quicker. Both machines are equipped with a 96.5-litre fuel tank, providing great autonomy and can easily run for 8-10h without refuelling.

The new L230 and C238 units offer an optional ‘Enhanced High Flow’ package which bundles several productivity boosting features.  With this option, the pressure of the auxiliary hydraulic system is increased by 70 bar to 277 bar. Combined with the high 131-litre oil flow, the increased pressure provides outstanding hydraulic power.

The Enhanced High Flow Package also includes: a glide ride boom suspension that offers faster cycles and more comfortable travel; and a self-levelling bucket that remains parallel to the ground when raising the boom, minimizing material spillage and increasing precision when positioning a pallet.

The L230 and C238 feature New Holland’s unique vertical lift SuperBoom that allows operators to load material right up to the centre of the truck bed, so that it can be loaded much faster from one side.

The best-in-class 55-degree dump angle on both models helps operators to empty the bucket faster, increasing cycle times and productivity. The boom geometry and linkage points combined with a long wheelbase of 1,322mm and low centre of gravity result in exceptional stability, so that operators can work with confidence at their most productive.
