New education and training centre for extractive sector

Institute of Quarrying and MPQC moving to new office on the outskirts of Nottingham

LATER this year the Institute of Quarrying (IQ), which currently shares offices with QMJ Publishing Ltd and Agg-Net.com, will be moving to a new building on the outskirts of Nottingham which will serve as both a new centre of excellence for education and training for the extractive sector, and also a meeting ‘hub’ for a range of industry organizations.

The meeting facility will be fitted out with state-of-the-art audio-visual and teleconferencing equipment and will be readily accessible to visitors via J25 of the M1, as well as being close to national rail and air links.

The building will be shared with IQ’s training partner, the Mineral Products Qualifications Council, and a new Executive Director is being sought to lead both staff teams.

QMJ Publishing, who also run the Hillhead show, Quarry Management magazine and a range of services for the natural stone industry, will remain at the existing office in the centre of Nottingham under the direction of Jack Berridge.
