New Bell wheel loader for Goonvean Aggregates

Bell L2606E wheel loader

South West-based aggregates producer takes delivery of fourth L2606E wheel loader from Bell Equipment

GOONVEAN Aggregates, one of the largest family-owned producers of aggregates in the South West, have returned to Bell Equipment for the purchase of their latest wheel loader.

Helping to strengthen the company’s fleet, the new machine takes its total number of Bell machines to four.

Goonvean’s original three Bell L2606E wheel loaders were purchased in 2014 following a review of the company’s plant equipment.

‘We required a number of robust, reliable wheel loaders to perform loading and carrying operations, such as destocking from the processing plant and loading road transport,’ said Kevin Foley, general manager of Goonvean Aggregates.

‘Due to these specific applications, there were a number of particular attributes we were looking for, which led us to draw up our own specifications before investigating the market.

‘Good visuals, a large carrying capacity, the reach of the loader and fuel consumption were key considerations,’ he said.

Working closely with their drivers, Goonvean conducted numerous trials with different manufacturers before choosing the Bell L2606E wheel loader.

‘We have never chosen a vehicle based purely on its brand. We need to know that any machine we buy is capable of doing the job we need it to do – and that is more important than its name,’ continued Mr Foley.

‘Back in 2014 many people thought we were taking a gamble by buying Bell Equipment, as their wheel loaders were relatively unknown.

‘However, the machine specs met our own and all three original loaders, which have since been consistently working five-and-a-half day weeks under tough conditions, instantly proved their credentials.

‘We now have four operating quarries and, as such, earlier this year we required an additional wheel loader to boost our fleet and increase our capacity. It was a clear and easy decision to return to Bell Equipment and their L2606E,’ concluded Mr Foley.

Richard Higgott, sales and marketing manager at Bell Equipment, commented: ‘Back in 2014 our wheel loaders were fairly new to the market and were often overlooked due to companies remaining loyal to a particular make.

‘Goonvean were able to see beyond the brand and recognize the quality of our machines and the benefits they could bring to their business.

‘We’re delighted that they have returned to us for their fourth wheel loader, demonstrating a confidence and trust in our machines and service, which we hope continues well into the future.’
