Multi-frequency sieve separating technology arrives in the UK

Guttridge have been appointed agents for the Virolat range of non-blinding sieve separators.

The Virolat multi-frequency system is said to be capable of significantly increasing throughput and achieving separation down to 25µm with improved efficiency. Guttridge recognize that demonstrations and testing will be essential to prove the system to prospective clients and have therefore set up a comprehensive test centre at their Spalding factory.

The system works by means of a passive device called an attractor being incorporated into a conventional circular or rectangular sieve separator. When conventional vibration is applied to the attractor it in turn applies a multi-frequency vibration to the screen. The chaotic movement created on the sieve screen deck is said to increase productivity and efficiency, while eliminating screen blinding. The system is also suitable for areas where traditional screening systems have failed and where de-agglomeration is a requirement.
