More Bell ADTs for McFadyens Contractors

Bell B30E articulated dumptruck

Reliable performance leads Scottish civil engineering firm to treble its Bell dumptruck fleet

SCOTTISH civil engineering firm McFadyens Contractors have renewed their relationship with Bell Equipment with the purchase of two Bell articulated dumptrucks (ADTs).

The latest machines – a new Bell B30E, plus a used B30D – join an existing B30D in the McFadyens fleet and are already hard at work on projects for the company’s clients, which include major companies in the forestry and wind farm sectors.

McFadyens first purchased a Bell ADT five years ago, which was itself a used machine with three years of operation under its belt. That B30D is now eight years old and still performing well, giving McFadyens the confidence to opt again for Bell.

‘Our existing Bell dumptruck has proven its reliability, while operators have confirmed that they like the comfort and functionality within the cab,’ explained Billy McFadyen, managing director of McFadyens Contractors. ‘We were therefore more than happy to renew our relationship with Bell.’

The timing of the current order was determined by a project to build forestry roads, meaning that McFadyens needed two ADTs quickly. The optimum solution was to combine another used B30D with a brand-new B30E, part of the next generation E-series range.

Aware of the urgency of McFadyens’ need, Bell also provided a temporary ADT for immediate use, prior to delivery of the two purchased machines.

‘That level of customer service reinforces why we like working with Bell; they are always available and receptive to our business needs, and helped us to meet the requirements of the project,’ said Mr McFadyen.

Richard Higgott, sales manager at Bell Equipment, added: ‘McFadyens have been in operation since 1901, in the days of horses and carts, so they know the value of a strong, hard-working machine.

‘It’s nice to know that their first Bell ADT is still performing well, and we are confident that the latest purchases will serve equally well as modern-day carthorses for McFadyens.’
