Rokbak appoint Idromac as dealer for Italy
Scottish manufacturer ready to meet rising demand for articulated haulers across the country
SCOTTISH articulated hauler manufacturers Rokbak have appointed Idromac as their official dealer for Italy, marking the start of a strategic partnership built for an important and evolving European market.
Led by chief executive officer and founder Francesco Casillo, Idromac recognized that Italy’s changing job site requirements had created a clear need for the introduction of a premium articulated hauler brand to their offering. The company, which has long specialized in heavy equipment, says the addition of proven articulated dumptrucks (ADTs) to its portfolio represented a natural step.
‘Construction transport in Italy is changing rapidly,’ said Mr Casillo. ‘ADTs are no longer confined to quarries and are also playing a decisive role in roadwork and earthmoving operations across the country.
‘To keep pace with this market evolution, we needed a proven, reliable, articulated hauler brand that aligned with our values and ambitions, and Rokbak matched our vision perfectly.’
Rokbak’s RA30 and RA40 haulers are designed for demanding conditions, offering durability, operator comfort and low total cost of ownership, which are key advantages for Italy’s varied terrain and work environments.
Through this new agreement, Idromac will be able to further support the extraction, roadbuilding and earthmoving sectors across the country, with strong early interest expected in Tuscany, where quarrying activity is high.
After-sales support will be a central part of Idromac’s approach. The company will train a group of dedicated technicians specifically for Rokbak equipment, enhancing Idromac’s already robust in-house technical capabilities.
Moreover, Idromac’s spare parts platform in Tuscany will be expanded to include a new Rokbak-focused department. Working closely with Rokbak, Idromac will stock the most frequently required components in Italy.
Italian customers will benefit from Rokbak’s strong parts infrastructure, including a 40,000-item warehouse as well as express shipments from Scotland to ensure rapid delivery.
‘One of the main concerns we hear from customers is delivery and waiting times for spare parts,’ explained Mr Casillo. ‘You cannot sell a truck without guaranteeing support. With Rokbak, we can confidently answer: ‘We have the spare part!’.'
The dealer agreement arrives at a pivotal moment for the Italian construction and earthmoving industries. Demand for ADTs has risen steadily since 2021, increasing by around 10% annually. The expectation is that more than 100 units will have been sold nationwide by the end of 2025. This shift reflects the growing importance of dumpers not only in quarries, but also in roadbuilding, infrastructure and large earthworks.
To build visibility for the partnership across Italy, Idromac will bring an RA30 truck to SaMoTer Veronafiere in May 2026, the country’s most important heavy machinery exhibition. The company will also carry out field tests with demo trucks at customer sites, and Italian customers will be invited to visit the Rokbak factory in Motherwell, Scotland.
‘This partnership is built for the long term,’ said Mr Casillo. ‘Rokbak and Idromac will work together, combining strengths to secure our place in the Italian market. The opportunities are significant, and we intend to seize them.’
‘Idromac are a fantastic partner,’ said Rokbak managing director Paul Douglas. ‘Francesco Casillo and his team have a deep understanding of the Italian market and a strong commitment to customer support. Their experience, energy and local presence make them the ideal representative for our articulated haulers, and we are excited to work together to bring Rokbak to more customers across Italy.’
