UK-based company set to represent Kobelco excavators across parts of US West Coast

MOLSON Group are in the process of expanding their equipment range in the US market through the introduction of machines from excavator manufacturers Kobelco.

The business is closing in on a dealership agreement that will see its US West Coast operations become representatives for the full range of excavators from the Japanese manufacturer.

The move will establish Molson as a distributor of Kobelco crawler excavators, mini-excavators and car dismantler machines to customers across parts of the West Coast of the US.

Molson say the addition of the Kobelco brand and range of equipment will complement the existing machines from Powerscreen, Terex Ecotec and Terex Fuchs that Molson currently offer – and represents another step in Molson’s bid to present customers across all of their regions with a comprehensive, 360° product range of industry-leading equipment.

Kobelco have a reputation for manufacturing machines that are well suited to the construction, quarrying, demolition, and recycling industries and offer a comprehensive line-up from the 1-tonne SK08SR-1E mini-excavator through to the 130-tonne SK1300LC-10E crawler excavator.

Taking on the supply of Kobelco machines across the West Coast of the US will offer a tremendous boost for customers of both companies, according to Molson Group managing director Robin Powell.

He said: ‘We are looking forward to continuing to develop the relationship between Molson and Kobelco and ensuring our customers in the US are able to take advantage of the availability of excavators of the highest quality and efficiency.’

UK-based Molson Group acquired Powerscreen of California and Powerscreen of Washington in 2022 and the two businesses have implemented the market-leading smartCMD digital technology software suite developed by Molson specifically to help run equipment companies.

It includes dealerCMD, the e-Emphasys-developed ERP system that uses data insights to enable more accurate forecasting and business planning, and fleetCMD, the fleet-management platform that uses advanced telematics to deliver insights into machine utilization, fuel consumption, carbon emissions, running costs, and more.
