Annual international minerals industry conference on the theme ‘Meeting the Sustainability Challenge’
THE Mineral Industry Research Organisation, in association with the minerals industry, is hosting its annual international conference, entitled ‘Meeting the Sustainability Challenge’, on 28 June 2012 at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, West Midlands.
The conference will provide a platform for sharing and exploring new ideas, and to review innovations in the following thematic areas:
- Innovative technologies
- Carbon dioxide capture and saving
- Sustainable products and materials
- Health and safety.
It will consider materials technology, manufacturing and processing techniques and end-product characteristics that satisfy ever more demanding design, planning and environmental requirements for development.
The conference is aimed at stakeholders including aggregates and mineral processors, specifiers, clients, designers, policy-makers, planners, local authorities, consultants, construction companies with specific interest in the development and management of sustainable aggregates production, environmental protection, energy reduction and innovative technologies.
