Conor Burns MP visits Kiverco

Conor Burns MP sees first-hand company’s waste-recycling expertise and success abroad

CONOR Burns MP, Minister of State for Northern Ireland, recently visited Kiverco’s global headquarters in Co. Tyrone, to look at how the facility is playing a key role in designing, manufacturing, and supplying some of the world’s leading waste-recycling plants in the market.

Mr Burns was keen to gain an insight into Kiverco’s waste-separation technology and had a particular interest in the company’s activities in the Middle East, where it is importantly helping customers and communities transform waste materials into reusable and recyclable products.

Highlighting their positive contribution to the Northern Ireland economy, Mr Burns was also interested to hear about Kiverco’s major contract wins in the region, one of which is with Dulsco, who are an official waste partner at Dubai Expo which opened in October 2021 and continues until the end of March this year.

At the event, Kiverco have taken part in panel discussions covering recycling, waste-management and sustainability whilst showcasing their manufacturing expertise and the best of Northern Ireland engineering

Con Gallagher, global sales manager for Kiverco, commented: ‘We are very grateful to Minister Burns for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit us here in Brocagh. He has a very genuine interest in what we do and how we are helping companies around the world recover value from the waste they process in the right way.

‘More and more nations are focused on achieving a circular economy model and want only the toughest waste-recycling plants to fulfil these objectives. We add value to every waste company that chooses a Kiverco plant and our sustainability credentials are unrivalled.’

Mr Burns added: ‘It was fantastic to visit Kiverco and witness how and what started as a small family-owned company has grown into a market leader, exporting Northern Ireland products to countries including Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. I was particularly pleased to hear of their ongoing successful participation at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

‘The UK government is committed to continuing to support Northern Ireland companies to export their quality products around the world and to attract investors to Northern Ireland, so that companies like Kiverco become even more successful.’
