Midlands Health, Safety & Environment Day

THE Midlands branch of The Institute of Quarrying and the Quarry Products Association are jointly holding a training day at Bradgate House, Leicester, on Wednesday 14 May 2008.

Designed for company employees, contractors and hauliers, the day will reinforce the need for safe working practices and highlight some of the hazards of working in the quarrying industry. The event will also look at the safety considerations for supervisors and assistant managers.

Topics covered during the day will include: Mobile Plant and HGVs; Confined Spaces; Electrical and Mechanical Lock-off; Well-being; Manual Handling; Fire Safety; Water and the Environment; and Working at Heights.
