Metso launch new Lokotrack jaw crusher

METSO Minerals have complemented their existing Lokotrack range with the launch of the new LT106 mobile jaw crusher – the successor to the highly popular Lokotrack LT105.

Scheduled for its global launch at next month’s ConExpo exhibition in Las Vegas, the LT106 is built around the completely new Nordberg C106 jaw crusher, which Metso say blends proven solutions with the latest technology to provide up to 10% more crushing efficiency, thanks to its innovative cavity design, longer stroke and optimized rev/min.

The C106 crusher features a new frame and pitman structure, which is said to minimize stress within the machine yet still allow maximum crushing force. The crusher cavity profiles are also newly designed, allowing easy optimization of the cavities for specific applications. Greater crushing efficiency is also achieved thanks to a longer stroke and slower, optimized speed. The crusher itself has a feed opening of 1,060mm x 700mm, providing a maximum feed size of 600mm.

The Lokotrack LT106 is powered by an environmentally friendly, 224kW (300hp) Cat C9 diesel motor that meets Tier 3 emission requirements. In addition, the machine’s user-friendly IC500 process automation system offers fully automatic crushing process controls, single-button process start-up and advanced fault diagnostics.

The LT106 can be fed by conveyor, excavator or wheel loader, and, according to the equipment used, a feed hopper size of 6 cu m or 9 cu m can be selected. The machine weighs 45 tonnes and has a transport width and height of 2.8m and 3.4m respectively.

A wide selection of optional equipment is available for the LT106, including: a longer, hydraulically folding discharge conveyor; radio remote controls; a magnetic separator; and a high-voltage generator.

The machine’s sister model, the Lokotrack LT106S, features a single-deck detachable screen module, allowing the production of two aggregate grades in a single-stage crushing and screening process. Offering a screening area of 3.3 sq m and suitable for mesh sizes from 20mm to 80mm, the screen module can be opened hydraulically for fast and easy servicing and screen mesh changes.
