Merger and new MD for ITT Flygt

ITT Flygt have merged their business with Wedeco, Sanitaire (UK) and Leopold, with effect from 1 January 2008, to create a leading solutions provider within the water and waste water treatment market.

The UK headquarters for the newly combined business will be located at Flygt’s new state-of-the-art offices in Nottingham, with regional offices being maintained in Warrington for Wedeco and in Rugby for Sanitaire.

In support of the move, Peter Lewington, who has held a number of senior roles with ITT Flygt, most recently as director and general manager – sales, has been appointed to the role of managing director of the combined businesses.

The new business will trade as ITT Water & Wastewater UK Ltd, although the four existing brand names of ITT Flygt, Wedeco, Sanitaire and Leopold will remain at the centre of all strategic development and communication.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Lewington said: ‘We are committed to developing and delivering effective and energy-efficient solutions for our customers. This merger heralds the start of a new phase for ITT Flygt – the combined expertise and experience of the four businesses will create a real force in the market and will allow us to fully utilize the high levels of technical expertise to the benefit of our customers and, ultimately, enhance our market leading position going forward.’
