McCloskey introduce the I4C compact impactor

McCloskey I4C compact impact crusher

New compact impact crusher designed for high production, reliability and efficiency in multiple applications

McCLOSKEY International have unveiled the latest addition to their impact crusher line-up – the I4C, which is said to deliver the power and productivity of a 1,125mm (44.3in) impactor in a compact footprint for maximum manoeuvrability, taking the original impact crusher design and transforming it into a heavy-duty compact product.

Built to the same standards as the company’s full-size crushers, McCloskey’s engineers have adapted the design of the I4C to meet the evolving requirements of today’s projects and operations by developing a more compact machine with the same level of durability, reliability and quality. Size for size, it is McCloskey’s most powerful impact crusher.

To enhance its operation, the I4C’s 44in impact crusher has been designed with a deeper chamber, creating greater tramp release space, whilst an aggressive blow bar and apron design, four-bar variable-speed rotor, and three crush zones with an optional fourth strike, mean the machine can be set up as a primary or secondary crusher in some of the toughest materials.

Maximum efficiency of material flow is delivered from end to end thanks to a new asymmetric feeder which delivers better motion and vibration as material moves into the impact chamber, along with a new curved belt on the main conveyor that better manages material delivery to the I4C’s 4m high stockpile. With quick release and ground-level access, the conveyor belt is also easy to maintain and service.

As with all McCloskey equipment, safety is paramount on the I4C, which is equipped with a number of features to ensure both the workplace and the operator are secure. A chamber door safety sensor, built-in safety shutdown functions, chamber safety arm and an innovative platform for changing blow bars all contribute to the safe operation and maintenance of the equipment.

Simplicity is also key, with ease-of-use and safety considerations built into the low-voltage electrical system, hydraulics and control panel. For ease of maintenance, the vast majority of components are identical between models to simplify spare parts, whilst ground-level access allows for quick service and maintenance, reducing the downtime for the operation.

‘Listening to our customers is a core element of our design engineering across all product lines,’ said Toni Laaksonen, senior vice-president of McCloskey International. ‘We are bringing to the I4C to market to respond to the demand for a heavy-duty, high-production impact crusher with high mobility and enriched safety features.’
