Martin Engineering acquire Cougar Industries

MARTIN Engineering, suppliers of industrial vibrators, have announced the acquisition of Cougar Industries, manufacturers of high-quality industrial vibrators made in the US. The Cougar name is to be retained and manufacturing will continue at Cougar’s facilities in Peru, Illinois, which will operate as a division of Martin Engineering.

Scott Hutter, chief executive officer of Martin Engineering, said: ‘This move will give us complete control over our vibrator quality and delivery. It will also allow us to quickly design, engineer and manufacture vibrators for special customer applications.

‘Martin Engineering will now be able to actively pursue worldwide applications for all types of vibrators, especially 12V and 24V models used on mobile equipment, which is one of Cougar’s strengths.’

Since patenting their first truck vibrator in 1964, Cougar have grown through expansion and strategic acquisition. The company designs and manufactures a range of single- and three-phase vibrators in a wide range of outputs. They also manufacture piston, ball, ring and turbine pneumatic vibrators and a complete range of hydraulically-powered units.

Cougar have a long history supplying 12V and 24V DC vibrators specifically for truck and mobile applications, as well as a range of equipment to remove material from storage vessels. Air cannons, Gyro-Whip bin cleaning and Power Lance bin drill systems will continue to be made at their facilities in Illinois.
