Magnificent seven

RMC Aggregates (North West) Ltd’s Dove Holes Quarry, near Buxton, Derbyshire, is taking delivery of seven new Caterpillar machines, increasing its fleet of Cat equipment to 17.

The new machines – three 775 dumptrucks, a 990 wheel loader, a 980G Series II wheel loader, a 345BLME excavator and a TH63 telehandler – will help with the processing of 12,000 tonnes of aggregates a day.

The new 990 wheel loader and 345 excavator will be used for face-loading duties; the 775s will haul run-of-quarry stone to the primary crushing and washing plant; the 980G will be used for tip/road maintenance and secondary handling; and the TH63 will be used by the maintenance department to improve spare parts handling.

According to Finning UK, the service support provided by their Chesterfield site has ensured RMC’s continued investment in Cat machines.
