Latest version of terrain software available

Version 8 of LSS terrain-modelling software is now available from McCarthy Taylor Systems Ltd.

This latest release follows the removal of the initial œ1,000 up-front fee last April and means that a copy of LSS Solo and a full days training now costs just œ400 + VAT. McCarthy Taylor are also offering a 'pay-as-you-earn' system from as little as œ250 a year which ensures that company's will always have the most up-to-date software available.

Version 8 includes the introduction of a 'virtual tour' facility as part of the existing Vista product, allowing the user to fly or walk through a model in real time on standard PC hardware. The views may include heighted features, such as trees and walls, and surface textures such as grass and rock. Any bitmap image can be used and it is simple to drape aerial orthophotos and raster maps on to the terrain for an impressive effect.
