Kleemann duo for H&C Dickie

Kleemann UK Ltd have supplied H&C Dickie with two Kleemann + Reiner jaw crushers to complement their existing range of machines.

The first unit supplied was a MCBN 122 Z 1200mm x 800mm tracked primary crusher that the company have used on contracts with a cone crusher and screens to produce Type 1 and single-size products. The 75-tonne basic machine configuration is powered by a diesel genset capable of 400kVA output. The direct-drive motor for the jaw crusher provides 160kW through the v-belts to ensure that even the toughest material is crushed.

The MCBN 122 Z features a 8m3 hopper, a welded and pre-stressed jaw crusher, a D7 crawler chassis, a 1,200mm wide discharge belt and a fully independent double-deck pre-screen — a special feature of Kleemann + Reiner machines. The pre-screen comprises a 1,200mm wide by 2,500mm long, double-deck primary screenbox located before the jaw. The main advantage of this is that when there is a load in the hopper the independent pre-screen will not be dampened, therefore allowing the maximum amount of material to by-pass the jaw. Hubert Dickie commented: ‘The independent pre-screen has the dual advantage of increasing product quality and crushing capacity. For one client we were able to screen off earth contamination from blasted rock and produce a high-quality feed into a secondary plant. On another application the client was able to sell the material produced off the side belt, giving them another product that would not have been available without the pre-screen.’

The second machine supplied to H&C Dickie was a MCB 112 ZH. This 45-tonne machine has a 1,100mm x 700mm jaw, a fully independent pre-screen (1.1m x 2.5m) and many of the same features as the larger model, apart from the drive to the jaw crusher. A Hagglunds hydraulic direct-drive motor provides the jaw with power with the added benefit of a reversing action to help clear blockages. The jaw’s close size setting is adjustable via a lever, without the need for special tools, making it suitable for the contracting market.
