Company’s K3, K4 and K5 scalpers are now equipped as standard with LLG grease

MOBILE crushing and screening equipment specialists Keestrack have announced that their K3, K4, and K5 scalpers will now be equipped as standard with the company’s Long Life Grease (LLG), which has been designed to optimize machinery performance, uptime, and longevity.

Keestrack’s LLG contains anti-wear and anti-friction additives and is resistant to water and rust. It extends service intervals, and reduces costs and downtime, whilst expanding the lifetime of the bearings of the screenbox and apron feeder by running at a lower temperature. The long-life lubricant is resistant to high-impact loads and vibrations and can handle ambient temperatures from –25°C to 145°C.

According to Keestrack, the service interval using LLG is five to 10 times longer, compared to the standard EP2 grease. Greasing the screenbox, for example, has been reduced from every 50 hours to every 500 hours.

The operating temperature of the bearings is also much lower with LLG grease, compared to EP2 grease. In one test, comparing the EP2 grease versus the LLG product on the screenbox of a K5, the bearings were running at an operating temperature of up to 60°C with standard EP2 grease, whilst with the LLG they were running at an operational temperature of 43°C – a significant difference.

The use of Keestrack’s Long Life Grease has resulted in a huge positive effect on the lifespan of the bearings, resulting in more uptime, less downtime, and lower operational costs.

To emphasize the unique characteristics of this grease – the cartridges are branded under a Keestrack private label. The LLG is available in 400ml tubes and can be easily applied by an ergonomic hand pump.

The Long Life Grease is visualized at all times, with identification and instructions clearly visible. The cartridges are made with a screwable cap so they cannot be mixed up with other classic grease pumps. Applying the grease can be undertaken by a hand pump single-handed or both-handed.
