JCB Waste Days attract large international audience

MORE than 500 experts from the global waste and recycling industries were given an insight into the latest machinery solutions on offer from JCB during two conferences staged at the company’s world headquarters in Rocester last month.

Guests were also shown behind the scenes of JCB’s new £40 million Heavy Products factory in Uttoxeter.

As well as showcasing the company’s range of purpose-built products for the sector, the events also addressed the burning issues and legislation affecting the waste and recycling market, and identified and demonstrated emerging industries and best practice from around the globe.

Delegates witnessed a live demonstration of JCB Wastemaster machines working alongside a full range of waste-processing equipment from other leading suppliers to the industry, including a Rubblemaster RM70 GO! mobile crusher, a Hammel VB950 shredder, a Red Rhino mini crusher, a three-way-split screener from Sandvik and a trommel screen from McCloskey.

Tasks specially recreated for the event included: aggregate recycling, wood waste processing, green waste composting, kerbside collection, metals recycling, WEEE operations end-of-life vehicle disposal and tyre recycling.

James Richardson, JCB’s general manager for waste, recycling & demolition, said: ‘The sheer scale our 2009 Waste Days and breadth of information covered reaffirms JCB’s position at the forefront of this crucial sector. The interest shown from such a vast number of delegates demonstrates the value of these informative events.’
