JCB to acquire compaction equipment company

JCB have announced the acquisition of German-based Vibromax Compaction Equipment GmbH for an undisclosed sum. The deal is expected to be completed in early September, subject to regulatory approvals.

The company will be known as JCB Vibromax and will be managed as part of the JCB Group with local management retained in Germany and North America and production continuing at the company’s existing factory in Gatersleben, near Leipzig. Products will be marketed as JCB Vibromax and will carry the JCB logo.

Commenting on the acquisition, John Patterson, managing director of JCB Group, said: ‘There is a great deal of synergy between JCB and Vibromax. The Vibromax products expand JCB’s all-important construction equipment range and we are very excited about the growth potential for the future.’

He added: ‘Vibromax has been privately owned with a culture very similar to JCB and an understanding of our values. The Vibromax product range is extremely complementary to JCB’s machine line-up.’

The Vibromax business has been a major player in the design, manufacture and worldwide distribution of compaction equipment for over 65 years. The Gatersleben factory produces a broad range of products including a full line of single-drum soil compactors, vibratory tandem rollers and trench rollers, and light equipment such as tampers and plate compactors, with approximately 2,500 machines manufactured annually.
