JCB enter portable lighting tower market

JCB Power Products have entered the portable lighting tower market with the launch of the JCB LT9 – a dedicated lighting tower featuring a 9m hydraulically activated, telescopic mast and four spotlights, each delivering 1,000W and giving a total output of 360,000 lumens.

Commenting on the launch, Richard Butler, director and general manager of JCB Power Products, described entry into the lighting tower sector as a natural extension for JCB Power Products.

‘Lighting towers and generators are clearly complementary, both in terms of their typical applications and their popularity with rental customers,’ he said. ‘With the addition of the LT9 to our range, we are now able to provide them with another core rental product which they regularly require.’

Powered by a three-cylinder, water-cooled, Yanmar engine and controlled via a JCB KS1 control panel, JCB say the fully bunded LT9 can run uninterrupted for 68h on its 100-litre fuel tank.

The unit is also simple and quick to use, with the mast – which is activated via a button on the side of the model – fully erecting in 13s and capable of rotating through 360° to provide effective lighting to all areas of a site.

Mounted on an integrated chassis, the LT9 is fully homologated for highway use and, to further improve manoeuvrability, features fork-lift pockets and a single-point lifting eye as standard. The unit is also equipped with four stabilizers for effective performance on uneven ground surfaces.

The new JCB lighting tower products will available globally through the company’s extensive worldwide network of dealers.
