IPPC seminars

MILIEUTECH plc, the Oxfordshire-based environmental consultancy, are to hold a series of seminars and workshops to explain the ramifications of the EU's Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) directive and to suggest cost-effective ways to implement safeguards in order to ensure compliance.

The directive affects virtually all industries and covers emissions to water, land and air, as well as heat, noise, vibration, energy efficiency, environmental accidents and site remediation.

The first seminar is being held at Sheffield Hallam University on 16 March and will include speakers from the Environment Agency, the University of Derby and Irwin Mitchell, a firm of solicitors who specialize in the legal aspects of regulated industries.

There will also be a presentation on the practical management steps needed to implement IPPC conformance. After the presentations, delegates will have the opportunity to attend workshops where they can discuss in detail specific problems facing their own particular sites.
