Interim report
"Hanson plc have reported a pre-tax profit of £129.2 million (£131.9 million) on turnover totalling £2,041.8 million (£1,380.9 million) for the six months to 30 June 2001. Trading profit was up 29.7% to £220.5 million. Hanson Building Materials America performed well with trading profit up 32.0% to £136.5 million, while Hanson Quarry Products Europe increased trading profit by 31.7% to £52.8 million."
