Improved dust collection

Donaldson have developed a new modular bag-filter housing that replaces the usual sheet metal housings and is designed to deliver efficient flow and pre-separation.

The aim was to design a flow-optimized housing for air volumes of up to 120,000m3/h, offering both investment and operation cost advantages for a wide range of industrial applications.

Heavy dust particles drop into a collector/hopper before they reach the filter. Flow conditions allow the dust-laden air to be evenly distributed over the filters. This mechanical pre-separation increases the life of the filter while increasing the quantity of dust taken up for the dust-collector installation.

The modular baghouse units can be used with any conventional filter media, although Donaldson say that bag or pocket filters equipped with their new Dura-Life filter media have up to two or three times longer service life and a higher air-to-media ratio.
