IceAlert system from Eurosigns UK

IceAlert system

New early-warning sign highlights the presence of ice in areas with pedestrian footfall

EUROSIGNS UK, part of Eurovia UK, have introduced IceAlert, a new early-warning system for ice that is suitable for use in any outdoor area.

The signs are said to be particularly useful for car parks, yards, depots or any areas that have a pedestrian footfall.

The IceAlert sign has a temperature-sensitive blue reflector, which gradually begins to revolve into view when the temperature drops to 2°C and is in full view by the time the temperature reaches –1°C.

No power is required to operate the sign, which is virtually maintenance free.

As well as keeping people safe, Eurosigns say the IceAlert system could minimize the risk of costly personal injury claims.

The system can also be used as part of an employer’s ‘Duty of care’ charter to its employees.
