Hyva tipping gear for Elliott & Sons
Elliott and Sons have taken delivery of a new Volvo FM truck, the first one in their fleet to be fitted with Hyva tipping gear.
The FM12 8x4 has an RVBB semi-bulk body with 4ft 6in high sides, making it suitable for transporting sand and gravel. It has Lincoln auto-lubrication and Maywood On-board weighing with sensors under the body and on the Hyva FC162 heavy-duty ram cylinder.
The tipping gear features a chassis-mounted tank which gives improved access to the platform fitted at the rear of the cab, compared to the integral and side-of-ram tanks normally fitted. From the platform the driver can get into the body, if necessary, and operate the Emlyn sheeting system.
Elliott's new tipper offers a payload capacity of 20.7 tonnes and operates within a 25-mile radius of the firm's base in Gloucestershire, where they run a small sand pit and landfill site.
