FTA Transport Manager conferences

Freight Transport Association’s Transport Manager conferences are back for autumn 2019

THE Freight Transport Association’s Transport Manager conference series, sponsored by Bridgestone Tyres, will be back in autumn 2019 at 11 venues around the UK. The conferences, now in their eighteenth year, will highlight key issues for anyone involved with running vehicle fleets, providing professional advice and helping them remain compliant and up to speed on the latest legislative developments.

FTA Transport Manager 2018 broke all previous attendance records, with more than 1,500 delegates in attendance for the first time in the event’s history. Several new venues have been chosen for this year’s series, including the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club, to provide an even better experience.

This year’s conferences will give delegates the chance to hear from a range of senior industry figures and policymakers, and the Association’s experts will be on hand throughout the day to advise on legislation and compliance issues.

Topics to be covered by the event’s knowledgeable speakers will include urban restrictions, brake testing, a round-up of all the relevant transport legislation for the coming year and much more.

James Firth, FTA’s head of road freight regulation policy, said: ‘These popular conferences enable busy transport managers to stay up to date with ever-changing legislation and best practice advice.

‘Compliance is vital in the logistics industry and the Transport Manager conferences provide operators with peace of mind that they are equipped with all the information they need, as well as giving them the opportunity to hear from senior figures in the industry and have their questions answered.’

Terry Salter, Bridgestone’s North Region Truck & Bus product manager, said: ‘Bridgestone are proud to sponsor the FTA’s Transport Manager conferences, which provide an invaluable insight into many of the burning issues facing the industry and the broad range of topics they will touch upon shares so much in common with our business as a whole.

‘From our perspective at Bridgestone, issues including road safety and reducing downtime for fleets are of critical importance and we are sure they’ll be high on the agenda throughout.’

Prices for attendance have once again been held at last year’s rates. For FTA members the cost is £295 plus VAT for the first delegate and £265 plus VAT for subsequent delegates; for non-FTA members £395 plus VAT for the first delegate and £365 plus VAT for subsequent delegates. The price includes access to all the exclusive conference sessions, a full package of refreshments throughout the day and a take-home bag packed with useful information.
