From NVQ to QCF

WITH the imminent move from NVQs to the new QCF framework, many employers are asking what this change will mean for their companies and employees.

A free-to-attend seminar will help to lift the lid on the new QCF framework by explaining exactly how QCF will impact companies and what, if anything, they need to be doing before choosing which qualification is best for each employee.

Hosted by training provider Serac UK, the session will include presentations from John Skipworth, recognition and accreditation advisor at Ofqual; Jonathan Ledger of Proskills; Carol Pillinger, chair of the Effective Training Group; and sector specialists in extractives, recycling and waste-management; and laboratory and associated technical activities, who will run sector-specific workshops.

Designed as a practical guide for training managers, site managers, area managers and human resource managers, the seminar will:

  • Explain how the QCF framework will work.
  • Describe what employers will have to do.
  • Help employers make decisions by examining the detailed content of the new QCF qualifications in each of the sectors outlined above.
  • Explore what arrangements there are for transitioning from NVQ to QCF.
  • Set out the benefits to your business of the new framework.

The QCF seminar will take place on 19 January at the Hilton Hotel, Northampton, from 11.00am to 3.00pm with lunch provided.
