METSO are to rebuild a complete crushing and screening plant for aggregates producer Sablières Malet in southern France. The €8 million plant will replace an old facility that was destroyed in a fire in 2012.

When completed, the plant will produce 850 tonnes/h of different sized aggregates for road and concrete applications. The plant will be fed by trains from different deposits, and will have a feed capacity of 1,200 tonnes/h.

The Metso supply contract consists of a complete plant, including cone crushers, screens and conveyors. The contract also includes project management, on-site supervisory services for installation and commissioning, and staff training.

The crushing and screening plant is included in Metso’s first quarter 2013 order book, with delivery scheduled for completion in early 2014. Sablières Malet are an independent producer of aggregates, established for more than 100 years at Portet-sur-Garonne, near Toulouse.
