FORS Gold for Essex-based Euromix

Euromix truckmixers

Tarmac subsidiary achieved the gold standard in Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme

ESSEX-based ready-mix concrete suppliers Euromix have achieved Gold standard in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators.

The scheme encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance, and provides a progressive accreditation pathway that allows operators to achieve exemplary levels of best practice.

‘This is something I have aspired to since taking over as Euromix transport manager and since the introduction of FORS within Tarmac,’ commented Ken Harris. ‘It is something I have been involved with and believed in from the word go.

‘As a company with a fleet of 54 concrete mixers and three tippers, FORS Gold status shows our commitment towards Euromix’s vision of continual improvement for the fleet and also, as a subsidiary of Tarmac, our commitment within the ready-mixed concrete sector.

Mr Harris added: ‘In line with the FORS Standard, we take training very seriously, so from this month we will be putting all of our drivers through UK Truckmixer Training’s Truckmixer Operator CPC course.

‘After working with Tony and Mark over a number of years and assisting Wear Mini Mix Ltd in gaining FORS accreditation for Tarmac in 2014, I know first hand what the course offers and how it can raise awareness of the safe and efficient operation of truckmixers for our drivers.

‘We have also been working closely with Tony and Mark to be able too deliver the course in house, and we are pleased to announce that this is now in place. With help and support from Wear Mini Mix Ltd and UK Truckmixer Training, we can take a big step in keeping our drivers and the public safe.’
