Flygt spread their wings

ITT Flygt have broadened their range of pumps with the introduction of a new series of self-priming contractors’ pumps. The launch follows the acquisition by Flygt’s parent company, ITT Flygt AB, of Uniservice Wellpoint, manufacturers of high-quality diesel- and electric-powered dewatering equipment.

Flygt now offer UK and Ireland customers a range of new products that can be used in a wide variety of heavy-duty quarry or construction applications, primarily for drainage and dewatering. All the pumps are easily transported and can be either skid-mounted or supplied with an on-site trailer, dependent on the site conditions, and are available with silenced or super-silenced canopies.

The Swell range of pumps offer high levels of performance and efficiency with respect to installed power. The pump’s body is made of high-strength cast iron and the impeller is open-bladed to allow the passage of particles up to 70mm. The standard impeller is constructed from spheroidal cast iron but can be supplied in alternative materials. These factors make the range suitable for a range of applications including: excavation drainage; water supplies from wells and canals; the washing of inert material; piling work; the movement of liquids with suspended solids; and pumping of heavy, abrasive and saline liquids.

Swell vacuum pumps are centrifugal self-priming pumps within the Swell series but differ through the addition of a rotary-blade vacuum pump that guarantees rapid and continuous priming of water.
