Flexible, heavy-duty air compressor

Atlas Copco have introduced a new large portable air compressor which has been designed for operation at three different pressure levels.

The XASE745 Gd oil-injected rotary screw compressor provides the air power for heavy-duty, high-volume operations. It provides a free air delivery of 1,580cfm (745 litres/s) at a working pressure of 7bar, 1,550cfm (730 litres/s) at 8.6bar and 1,420cfm (670 litres/s) at 10.3bar.

Powered by a Detroit Diesel series-60 diesel engine rated at 336kW (450hp), a proven stepless regulating control provides the required working pressure between 7bar and 10.3bar. Working in conjunction with a regulating valve and the electronic control module, the engine is automatically adjusted to ensure the correct power setting.

Standard units are avail- able fitted on a four-wheel tandem undercarriage complete with overrun brakes and a mechanical parking brake for added safety. The compressor is also available skid-mounted and without an undercarriage.

The XASE745 Gd meets current and proposed European and US legal requirements for the working environment (ISO 14001), and complies with international safety, exhaust emission and noise regulations. Standard units are silenced to meet a sound power level below 104dB(A) and are built and tested to ISO 9001 standards.
