First TEREX Pegson sale for Blue Machinery Scotland

Glasgow-based Malcolm Construction Services have taken delivery of four TEREX Pegson mobile crushers from recently appointed distributors Blue Machinery Scotland. The deal marks the first sale of TEREX Pegson crushing equipment under the new dealership arrangement and represents the biggest single sale for Blue Machinery Scotland so far this year. All four machines will be used for the processing of quarried whinstone at Loanhead Quarry near Glasgow, which Malcolm acquired late last year.

Malcolm Construction Services, part of The Malcolm Group, are a multi-disciplined company operating throughout Scotland’s central belt, with interests in quarrying, haulage, civil engineering, recycling and waste management. Their recent investment in new TEREX Pegson equipment comprises a Premiertrak 1180 jaw crusher, a 1300 and a 1000 Maxtrak cone, and one of the company’s recently launched XR400 crushing plants, which features hydraulic release.

The four new machines will form two production lines to generate a range of eight specified quality materials, including Type 1 sub-base CL803, 0/80mm crusher run, 40/80mm scalpings, 40mm to 10mm single sizes and 0/6mm crushed fine aggregate. The quarry is expected to produce around 450,000 tonnes per annum, serving a national customer base throughout Scotland.

Malcolm Construction Services’ sales manager, Paul Browne, commented: ‘We have enjoyed a long partnership with Blue Machinery, who have consistently been of great help both during the selection and buying process and, particularly, with their first-rate after-sales product support. These new crushers provide us with the flexibility to provide our customers with the widest possible range of aggregates and also to offer sizes and grades beyond our normal product range.’
