Finning launch roller scrappage scheme

WITH the Government car scrappage scheme coming to an end, Finning have launched an industry-first roller scrappage scheme as part of their ‘Lastability’ promise to save the plant sector £10 million in 2010.

Aimed at operators of non-Caterpillar 1.2m drum rollers between five and 10 years old, the roller scrappage Scheme provides a discount of up to £4,500 on the £14,500 purchase price of a Caterpillar CB24 roller.

Split into two categories, the scheme rewards customers depending on the age of their existing machines:
  • 5–7 years old – £4,500 scrappage allowance
  • 7–10 years old – £3,000 scrappage allowance
As part of the scheme, Finning will also help customers finance the purchase of new machines with a special Cat Finance 2.55% APR deal.

‘This is a timely introduction of an industry-first scrappage scheme, especially as the Government is soon to close its existing car scrappage scheme,’ said Finning roller product specialist Rob Doble.

‘From a Finning perspective, it adds further to our Lastability promise of saving the plant sector £10 million in 2010, but what it also allows is new, traditionally non-Caterpillar customers to experience what our complete equipment, service and finance offering is all about.

‘Because we also recognize that getting the financing in place for the purchase of new equipment is more difficult at the moment, we have teamed up with Caterpillar Finance for this particular scheme to offer a 2.55% APR finance package over 36 months, subject to standard Cat finance terms and conditions.

‘This makes the scheme much more accessible, allowing customers to benefit from the high performance of the CB24 vibratory compactor, which is considered to be the most versatile model in the Caterpillar utility compactor range.’

Roller operators wishing to take advantage of the roller scrappage scheme should contact Finning on tel: (01543) 461461.
