Finning aiming to deliver ‘lastability’

FINNING, the UK’s sole supplier of Caterpillar equipment, have launched a 2010 New Year commitment to save the plant industry an additional £10 million by delivering ‘lastability’ to customers across the UK.

Having seen the industry change dramatically over the last year, Finning say they are rewriting the rulebook to say to the industry – 2010 is the start of the ‘lastability’ era.

Launching a new standalone website, www.lastability.com, aimed at helping the industry achieve lastability, Gary Agnew, Finning general sales manager, said: ‘2010 is make or break for a lot of plant owners and operators. Fundamentally, any plant investment and servicing decisions made this year could be crucial to their future success.

‘With continuing tough economic conditions ahead, at Finning we have recognized that we need to be much more than just an equipment supplier. This is why we have made some tough decisions and taken action in 2009 to position our business as the partner of choice that can give customers lastability.

‘Whether it is helping them to reduce their costs, make efficiency gains, improve productivity or minimize their operations’ impact on the environment, I believe we are the only provider that can truly offer customers the support and confidence they need in our lastability credentials.

‘Whereas some equipment suppliers during these difficult times have chosen to close branches and reduced front-line support, moving further away from their customers, we have maintained and remain fully committed to our national UK support network.

‘Lastability means something different to everyone. At Finning we have defined it as ‘The drive, quality and expertise to continually deliver exceptional and enduring performance; to make things last; to reuse, recycle or preserve’.

‘But the challenge we are laying out to the industry is: ‘What does lastability mean to you? Does your current supplier have it? Can they help you achieve it? And can they help the industry save up to an additional £10 million in 2010?’

In support of their lastability.com challenge, Finning have developed an online resource at www.lastability.com that provides a wealth of useful information for customers looking to achieve lastability. It includes the latest news, customer videos, hints and tips, monthly themes (beginning with ‘Winter Workout’) and exclusive ‘lastability’ offers to those who join.
