Extended warranty from David Brown

Company launches 3X – a three-year extended warranty package for any gearbox brand or model

DAVID Brown, specialists in gearing solutions and services, have announced the introduction of 3X – a new market-leading three-year extended warranty package for their customers.

3X is available for any gearbox brand and model – even those of competitors – and provides access to David Brown’s extensive gearing expertise and global network of service and repair centres for fast and efficient local service.

The package also covers new gearboxes designed and manufactured by David Brown. These will be installed, commissioned and maintained at regular intervals, as necessary, by a specialist David Brown service engineer under the 3X warranty, which includes the option to install a CMaS remote conditioning-monitoring system to gather critical information while the gearbox is in operation, thereby helping to guard against unexpected failure.

Giving at least three years of hassle-free gearbox ownership, David Brown say the introduction of 3X is a natural evolution of the service and repair support they already provide globally. The package works by proactively managing the gearbox, with scheduled inspections and maintenance ensuring potential issues are identified and resolved quickly, before failure occurs.

Steve Watson, global service and repair director, said: ‘We’ve introduced 3X in response to our customers’ needs – going beyond the industry norm of one- or two-year warranties – to give our customers at least three full years of extra assurance, reduced downtime and easy access to service expertise.

‘The results of recurring downtime can lead to costs at least 20 times higher than working with an experienced team to ensure your gearbox problems are solved with reliable, long-lasting and guaranteed repairs. From Flender, Falk, Radicon, Hansen, SEW, Allen Gears and Santasalo, right through to heritage gear brands such as GEC, there is no gearbox that David Brown cannot service, repair and upgrade,’ said Mr Watson.
